We are a group of residents on the Marquess Estate. We love living here and are proud of our community, our homes and our area. We want to strengthen that community and make sure the estate works for everyone. We want to work with the council to make things even better. At the moment we don’t have a TRA. We think we should have one so that we can work with Islington to:

• improve management and maintenance

• sort out waste management and recycling

• make sure we are consulted on building works and major capital projects affecting us

• keep the estate safe and secure

That’s just the nuts and bolts. We also want to get to know each other better, and understand what all our needs and wants are, such as:

• Cost of Living challenges (especially energy bills)

• Community spaces for parties and get-togethers

• Young people, mental health and employment

• Older people, loneliness and support needs

• Sorting out way-finding, especially for emergency services and deliveries

These are just some ideas; they won’t be the ‘right’ ones and so we need to come together, talk, share ideas, and hopefully form a new Tenant Residents Association.
